What does GEAR UP stand for?
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs
GEAR UP is a 7-year federal grant/partnership with the University of Washington focused on academic preparedness, college readiness, high school graduation, and post-secondary success.
The goals of GEAR UP—
- Support successful completion of rigorous courses
- Provide college financial aid information to students
- Increase % of students graduating high school
- Increase % of students enrolling in & attending college
